Robert Crissman, a 38-year-old man who was serving a light sentence for a probation violation related to a drug charge, is now the prime suspect in a murder that occurred after his escape. The escaped inmate allegedly killed a woman just hours after he fled the Armstrong County jail in Pennsylvania, CBS News reports.

Robert Crissman, who had been in the county jail since July 23 for violating his parole, was helping deliver meals to the inmates Thursday morning when he just simply “walked away” to the nearby house of a friend.

The man living in the house went to work, and when he returned later, he found his girlfriend, Tammy Long, 55, dead in the bathroom.

“They were familiar to the point where he was allowed in voluntarily,” Armstrong County District Attorney Scott Andreassi said.

Citing statements from police, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the escaped inmate brutally beat his friend’s girlfriend with a ceramic toilet lid then strangled her with a string. The beating was so severe that the lid was left shattered in pieces.

The murder was especially shocking because Crissman has a long history of drug and theft, but not violence.

“I was very shocked,” said Frank Lagoni, Crissman’s former boss. “He’s been hollered at. Never reacted to being hollered at. Don’t know how he snapped like that.”

According to a report from CBS Pittsburgh, the local news station, Crissman was captured and taken into custody around 8:40 a.m. Friday in Boggs Township after a 26-hour manhunt. During his brief time as a free man, he allegedly stole two vehicles, a gun, and committed a violent murder. Crissman is now charged with murder; theft of a gun, two trucks and a TV set; and aggravated assault on a police officer.

The search for Crissman intensified when witnesses called 911 reporting that they saw a vehicle matching the description of one that the escaped inmate was said to have stolen. Police then received a call from a frantic woman saying that Crissman had knocked on her door. She immediately recognized that he was the escaped inmate and she told him to “hold on a minute and that’s when she was able to shut the door and lock it, and that’s when she was able to call 911,” the report states.

An angry dad tried to run over teens in a viral video that is making its rounds on the internet this week. In the video, the 56-year-old man is seen recklessly driving his SUV in the grass as the teens scream and scatter. The incident happened in the county of Rockford, Illinois, and it started after the man learned that his 13-year-old daughter had been in a fight, Fox News reports. The attack was captured on video by 15-year-old Nathan Velez, and the dramatic footage has rapidly spread through social networks.

Regarding the incident, Velez gave a statement to reporters.

“I just knew we had to get out of the way before he hit one of us. When I first saw him pull out the bat I knew it was going to go somewhere, I knew he was trying to injure somebody.”

The police reported that Roy Williams, the person behind the wheel of the vehicle, decided to take justice into his own hands after discovering his daughter was injured in a brawl between students at Nelson Elementary School.

According to a report from WIBW, when the girl told her dad what happened, police say he threatened two girls with his cane then got in his SUV.

“It was very helpful to identify who the suspect was, but it doesn’t necessarily tell the whole story, so we have to take a look at it and then talk to the people who were there,” Rockford Police Assistant Deputy Chief Doug Pann said.

According to an incident report from police, Williams’ 13-year-old daughter and two other teen girls had been involved in a fight earlier that day. Apparently, Williams was angry when he found out his daughter had been beaten, so he threatened to hurt the teens responsible for the fight. Reportedly, the teens ran from him as he chased after them in his SUV.

CBS affiliate WIFR wrote the following passage regarding the incident.

“Williams drove off the roadway and accelerated toward a group of a dozen teens who were on the sidewalk at the school. The children were able to run from the car and no one was injured, however Williams then also called police to report the initial fight.”

When police arrived on the scene, they arrested Williams and an investigation into the initial fight did not result in any charges. As a previous report from the Inquisitr revealed, Williams is currently in jail and the mad dad now faces 12 counts of aggravated assault with a vehicle, aggravated assault of public property, reckless driving, and reckless conduct. His bond was set at $200,000.

There are often situations of domestic disturbances that don’t make a lot of sense and often, there are no reasons given for why they happened. Well, a woman is charged with shooting her husband outside of a bar late on Tuesday night, and she gave a perfectly clear reason for pulling the gun and shooting him. Kimberly Rector simply said she “was tired of him.”

According to WDTV, 54-year-old Kimberly Rector was arrested and had her bail set at $200,000 for shooting her husband in front of White Front Tavern and Grill in Taylor County, West Virginia. Her husband is 67-year-old Robert Rector, who was flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital.

THEET reported that Taylor Sheriff Terring Skinner said Bob Rector was taken to the hospital in Morgantown with a gunshot wound to the abdomen, but hospital officials denied he was a patient.

“I believe they’re married, but possibly in the process of a divorce.”

As she was being transported to the county jail, Kimberly Rector told police that she “was tired of him,” and went to his vehicle to get his gun. She took the gun out of the vehicle, waited for him to come outside, and shot him.

Kimberly Rector admitted that she had never fired a gun before and didn’t even realize she had hit him. She brought the gun back to his vehicle and then waited for police to arrive. She also said that she knew her “daughters were going to be really mad” at her.

Witnesses at the White Front Tavern and Grill did say that Kimberly shoot the weapon multiple times.

Upon arriving on the scene, police recovered the gun and saw that the cylinder contained five empty.17 cartridges. Only one bullet was said to have hit Bob Rector, and it was in his abdomen.

Kelly and Bob Turoczty, the owners of White Front Tavern and Grill, issued a statement for their customers. They wanted to let them know that the incident happened outside of their location and not inside of it, and that their bar is still a “friendly environment.”

“The incident that happened on Wendel Road was near our establishment, not in it. We just want you to know that the incident that happened on Wendel Road was not because of something that occurred in our establishment. What occurred could have happened at any establishment. It was not because of anything that occurred here.”

A bounty hunter in Arizona attempted to take down someone who he thought was a fugitive. However, it was the bounty hunter who got arrested… because the target was actually not the person he was looking for.

The bounty hunter and other armed bail bondsmen were trying to corner a fugitive from Oklahoma. According to NY Daily News, the bounty hunter and his men were outside the home of Joseph Yahner, Phoenix Police Chief.

The reason why the bounty hunter and the other men showed up at the cop’s house is because they received an erroneous tip via social media. The incident was captured on film, and at one point in the video an unidentified man shouted for the occupant of the house to open their door.

Police ended up responding to a disturbance call and, when they arrived at the scene, they discovered the bounty hunter and other members from two bond recovery companies, with one of them being NorthStar Fugitive Recovery and the other being Delta One Tactical Recovery.

Police said the two companies received a false tip that claimed the person the bounty hunter was looking for was at the chief of police’s home. Police say that when the bounty hunter and the other men were told the man they were looking for wasn’t there, as well as being told that they needed to leave, they refused to do so, according to WTSP.

Members of the party were banging on the door and demanding that Yahner exit the home. Police said that at least one bondsman was armed. Also, nobody at the chief’s house matched the description of the man the bounty hunter was looking for.

Brent Farley, the owner of NorthStar Recovery, was arrested on a count of criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct.

Phoenix Police Sgt. Trent Crump said that there were a lot of things that went wrong, not to mentioned that the bounty hunter and the others refused to leave the chief’s property.

In other bounty hunter news, perhaps the world’s most famous bounty hunter, Dog the Bounty Hunter, said that he was not interested in apprehending El Chapo. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Dog the Bounty Hunter said that El Chapo is out of his league.

Dog The Bounty Hunter, real name, Duane Chapman, prefers to stick in the United States when it comes to bounty hunting. The famous bounty hunter was once arrested while in Mexico and this is because bounty hunting is illegal there.

Christopher A. Matous allegedly had a pretty solid plan for his working life. The Iowa man held a job at Taco Bell, but decided he wanted to “stay high all the time.” So, he set up a little meth lab in a utility room there.

The jig was up, however, when someone reported suspicious people lingering outside Taco Bell and called police. Police arrived Tuesday to check out the reports, and say they approached Matous and another man, Kent J. Duby, 56, as they stood outside surrounded by contraband, KCRG reported.

What police claim they saw at Matous’ feet was a peeled lithium battery, an ingredient in meth. The manager of the Cedar Rapids Taco Bell, located in a bustling shopping complex, let police in to search the fast food joint.

And they found a lot more than just gorditas. Authorities said they uncovered an active lab inside the Taco Bell’s utility room, including fuel, lye, drain cleaner, and the other sundries necessary to manufacture the drug.

Officials claim to also have found up to two grams of the drug as well.

Not surprisingly, Christopher has been fired, KCCI added.

But finding a lab in a restaurant poses special problems for local officials; such set-ups are usually found in homes, not public spaces. Tuesday’s discovery was a first in Cedar Rapids.

“There aren’t a lot of clear guidelines,” said environmental public health official James Hodina. “We have more experience with meth labs in residential settings, in rental properties.”

Thus, folks in Cedar Rapids are now a bit concerned that the employee’s impromptu meth station poses a health risk. Fortunately, county authorities have assuaged fears by confirming that the pubic likely wasn’t harmed as they munched on burritos and chalupas.

“Some of the chemicals have a volatile nature and there could be some of those (fumes) that could have been distributed throughout the restaurant and could have caused some irritation to the eyes or the lungs or the nose,” said toxicologist Stuart Schmitz.

The Taco Bell is closed and will be examined and decontaminated by “professional environmental experts,” the county’s public health department told KWWL.

As for Matous and his plans to get high, for now they seem to be on hold. He has been charged with manufacturing a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and three counts of possession of meth precursors. There wasn’t enough evidence to charge Duby with a crime.

Law enforcement hasn’t said how long fast food joint had been home to the meth lab.

A 12-year-old boy was home alone Monday when a stranger knocked on the door.

That was odd, because his parents had just left for work and he wasn’t expecting anyone to visit, the Associated Press reported. He did what anyone would’ve done, but in this case, it was the wrong decision — he didn’t answer the door.

Scottsdale, Arizona has recently seen a spate of break-ins in which the burglars knock to determine if anyone’s inside, then come in to rob the place when they don’t get an answer, the city government warned.

And that’s just what Robbie Jay Johnson Jr., 36, and Cole Austin Lewallen, 31, did. Both men had criminal records, and apparently had no qualms about entering the boy’s house when he didn’t answer.

According to ABC 15, the boy watched as Johnson and Lewallen came into the backyard. So he ran to the closet, grabbing the phone on the way, hid and called 911, ABC 15 reported.

“Two strange men I don’t know are on my back porch and I think they’re trying to open the door. They’re trying to break down the door right now … I can hear them.”

The boy listened as the men rummaged through his house for 15 minutes, ABC News added. Despite his obvious fear, the child did very well — he followed the burglars’ movement, noting to 911 where they were throughout the ordeal. He also gave the operator a description of their vehicle and told her where he was in the house so police could find him.

Then came a terrifying moment: the suspects spot the child.

“Please don’t hurt me,” he said. “Oh my God, I don’t know what to do.”

“Did they open the door?” the 911 operator asked.

“Yes, they’re running. They’re running… they saw me… What do I do? What do I do?”

Still clinging to the phone, he reported shortly afterward that officers had arrived. The men tried to make their getaway, but thanks to the boys’ call, the home was surrounded with cops. Johnson was immediately taken into custody, but Lewallen made a break for it.

It was short-lived. Police found him in the backyard several houses away and nabbed him with a K9 unit. He was injured during the arrest.

Luckily, the quick-thinking and brave 12-year-old boy wasn’t harmed and Scottsdale authorities are now warning residents about this new brand of burglar. If someone knocks on the door, officials advise people — especially if home alone — should respond by asking them to leave. If the stranger doesn’t, people are advised to call police and hide.

Both men have been charged with multiple felonies in connection with the robbery.

Behind Bars: Rookie Year is a thrilling new reality TV series that is set to debut on A&E tonight.

Behind Bars: Rookie Year will follow a group of men and women who want to make a difference in the world by becoming correctional officers. Though the new COS recruits have a general idea of what the job entails as they go through training and look directly into the eyes of New Mexico’s coldest killers, some will realize that they may have chosen the wrong profession.

We’ll meet Cabinet Secretary Gregg Marcantel and Senior Training Officer Aaron Bell. Bell will show these rookies how to defend themselves against some of the most notorious and most dangerous criminals in the penitentiary. Some of the recruits seem cocky and tough, but Officer Aaron Bell lets them know right away that they will be stepping into the prisoners’ house, and they need to develop the tools to defend themselves against prison inmates who have done nothing but prepare themselves to take down each officer — one at a time.

In addition to Officer Aaron Bell, viewers will meet COS rookies Francisco Villacana, Zach Chavez, Andrew Cordova, Cohen Mangin, Keith Pallesen, Carlos Rivera, Bruce Rounds, Tyler Yaryan, and Ariel Montoya, the female COS recruit.

Most of these prison guards are taking the job because they want a career in law enforcement. Some are doing it because it’s their dream job, and others are working in this field because they need the paycheck in order to take care of their family. The salary for most correctional officer jobs start rookies out from $3,000 to $4,000 a month, and can scale up to $5,000 to $6,000 per month for long-time corrections officers.

So what does being a correctional officer or prison guard entail? First and foremost, you’ve got to be tough. This job is not for the quiet and timid. Prison guards must be prepared to work some grueling hours and work under tremendous pressure. COS recruits know going in that every day they enter the prison could be their last day on earth. Correctional officer rookies will go up against mommy killers, baby killers, gang members, rapists, and child molesters.

Will these new corrections officers in tonight’s Behind Bars make it through the academy? More importantly, will they have the emotional and physical strength to deal with New Mexico’s toughest criminals? Will their first day on the job have them begging to leave, turning their backs on the prison system forever? Dateline NBC will revisit the sad story of a Lynn Schockner, a California housewife who was stabbed to death in broad daylight as six police officers waited outside her home. Lynn Schockner’s death was believed to be the result of a burglary gone wrong. But detectives soon discovered that her husband, Manfred “Fred” Schockner, paid two hit men to kill his wife. Sixty-five-year old Manfred Schockner, and his accomplices, 31-year old Frankie Fidel Jaramillo, aka “El Cubano,” and 21-year old bodybuilder, Nicholas Alexander Harvey, were all found guilty of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison. The Dateline NBC episode entitled “In Broad Daylight” is a repeat from earlier this year.

The bizarre events began in November, 2004, after a neighbor contacted police to report an intruder in the Schockner’s backyard. When police arrived at the home located in the 1100 block of Andrews Avenue in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood that morning, they spoke to the lady of the home who had been sleeping at the time. The woman was identified as 50-year-old Lynn Schockner. The woman agreed to retrieve the key to a back gate so that police could enter and search the property.

Law enforcement officials waited outside for an excessive amount of time, prompting them to see what was going on. It was then that they observed a 21-year old man escaping the residence. The man was identified as Nicholas Harvey, a gym trainer and bodybuilder. Upon his arrest, police found a bloody sharp object, a stun gun, and stolen jewelry in his possession. The lifeless body of Lynn Schockner was found outside her back door.

An autopsy report revealed that the victim was quietly accosted by the killer and stabbed around 10 times. Her throat was also cut. The Bixby Knolls neighborhood was in shock as neighbors tried to figure out who could’ve killed the nice housewife. Believing that intruders were targeting their neighborhood for burglaries, residents were adamant about police solving the case.

The Long Beach police investigators had no idea that their robbery and burglary theory would be thrown out as soon as they learned that the victim’s own husband had plotted to have her killed so that he wouldn’t lose millions of dollars in the divorce settlement.

Those who knew the couple stated that the relationship was particularly abusive, and that Manfred Schockner had a reputation for mistreating his wife and their son, Charles. Lynn had planned on starting a new life with her son before the tragic events. Police were able to connect Nicholas Harvey and Fred Schockner to Frankie Jaramillo, a man they called El Cubano. Frankie Jaramillo was friends with Fred Schockner, and had even had dinner at the couples home, according to The Press-Telegram. Prosecutors say that El Cubano, aka Frankie Jaramillo, had promised to pay Nicholas Harvey $5,000 to kill the woman. In return, Fred Schockner would pay Jaramillo $50,000.

Lynn Schockner’s friends and family members say that she was a beautiful and giving person who always put others before herself. Today, the killers still sit in a California correctional center. Frankie Jaramillo and Manfred Schockner have lost their appeals. In 2015, Mark A. Jicha published a book about the murder-for-hire plot entitled Leaving Long Beach.

Harry Styles is by far one of the most popular members of One Direction, but it can be difficult to get to know him when his mood seems to be all over the place.

Is there a reason that Harry Styles seems annoyed lately — and is it possible that being in close proximity to his ex Nadine Leopold has something to do with it?

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, it is not uncommon for fans to wonder what makes Harry Styles tick. However, if fans read between the lines of the headlines over the last weeks of July and the first week of August — it can appear that Harry Styles has been having a hard time lately.

Nevertheless, it is important for fans to remember that Harry Styles has a specific persona he turns on when he is on stage compared to interviews and his personality in real life. In an Entertainment Weekly review of a One Direction performance at MetLife Stadium, the writer specifically singled out Harry Styles’s on-stage persona and said the following.

“Harry Styles, long referred to as the band’s de facto frontman, gets that honorary title for a reason. Skipping, dancing, and just generally bopping across the stage like a wacky, waving, inflatable arm-flailing tube man, Styles’ onstage persona is far removed from what you might see reflected in interviews.”

Of course, it seems like Harry Styles generally likes this clowning around he does on stage. About the MetLife Stadium concert, Hollywood Life reports on August 6 that fans were ecstatic when Harry Styles joked around and poured water on the crowd.

Regardless, Harry Styles is not exactly consistent with his on stage persona and can appear to be annoyed. For instance, it was not so long ago that Harry Styles was completely unamused by fans playing the clown. On July 13, UnReality TV reports that at a Santa Clara concert, Harry Styles reported a fan in the front row to security. About the incident, the following was alleged.

“[Harry Styles] was perched at the front of the stage singing to the 80,000 strong audience when one front row fan decided to absolutely soak him in the face. She didn’t squirt a little bit of water, but drenched [him] and he was clearly less than amused.”

In fact, Harry Styles’s mood has flip-flopped a lot from this playful on stage clown persona — and he has been calling out a lot of people on the One Direction On The Road Again tour. In particular, Harry Styles had rough words for Sea World.

But could there be a reason that Harry Styles may be on a bit of an emotional roller coaster? As it appears, Harry Styles has been harassed by an American girl for most of July. Giving some explanation about why Harry Styles might be amiss, on August 5 UnReality TV reports the following.

“A teenage girl tweeted last month, promising to attempt murder at tonight’s concert. She posted: ‘Enjoy MetLife you little girls…He ruined my little sister’s life and he will now pay. I made this account to let everyone know that Harry Styles will die, August 5th, 2015, at MetLife Stadium.'”

On top of that, Harry Styles may have been emotionally distressed because he was in close proximity to his ex-girlfriend, Nadine Leopold. Harry Styles and One Direction were in New York City around August 5 to film an interview with Good Morning America.

Also potentially in New York City at the same time as Harry Styles was Nadine Leopold. According to Women’s World Daily, handbag designer Monica Botkier (of Botkier New York) named Nadine Leopold as the “brand’s campaign muse” around the first of August.

When Dr. Binh Minh Chung was accused in 2006 of fondling a 15-year-old patient he was supposed to be treating for pink eye, the charges were dismissed in a plea deal.

Chung did 100 hours of community service, took classes in impulse control, and promised to stay out of trouble, according to The Las Vegas Review Journal. In exchange, the doctor was not convicted of a crime, and the Nevada Board of Medical Examiners allowed him to continue treating patients.

Apparently, Binh Minh Chung did not keep his promise, and he now stands accused of drugging and sexually assaulting several of his patients. These charges have been added to his original indictment for the production and possession of child pornography, and as a result, Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Deborah Lippis agreed to raise his $550,000 bail to $1 million.

After agreeing to the Prosecutor’s request to raise the doctor’s bail, Judge Lippis made her opinion known, saying, “Bail is not unreasonable to be set at one million. In fact, it might be even reasonable to make it higher.”

The criminal complaint against the physician contains 28 counts. The new charges were filed after his wife — who has now filed for divorce — allegedly caught her husband drugging patients, sexually assaulting them, and recording it on videotape.

Dr. Chung was arrested when his wife found some videos on her husband’s hard drive and brought them to the police. The footage showed a man in medical scrubs having sex with women who appeared to be unconscious, according to CNN. His wife verified that the man in the videos was the doctor.

This led police to his office, where they allegedly unearthed multiple videos of child porn from his hard drive.

Now, the doctor, 41, is facing a slew of disturbing charges: 11 counts of producing and possessing child pornography, three of sexual assault, and 13 for administering a drug to aid in the commission of a felony. Two of his alleged victims were a minor and her mother, The New York Daily News added.

One of his young victims told the Las Vegas police that he allegedly used Ketamine on her. On June 4 — the same day Binh Minh Chung’s wife came in for the disturbing show-and-tell — the minor told authorities she’d been victimized by her doctor a year before. The girl is between 14 and 18, and he allegedly created a pornographic video with her.

The girl was being treated by him for acne, and the doctor picked her up from home one night to take her to his office for the treatment, which began with a shot to put her to sleep. She reported drifting in and out of consciousness; waking at one point to find she wasn’t wearing her pants, and her feet were in stirrups.

When she finally woke up and vomited, the doctor allegedly told her it was a side effect of the treatment. He drove her home at 3 a.m. the next day. It was a conversation with her mom that brought the memories to the surface, and her mother also believed she’d been drugged and raped by the physician.

Doctor Chung has not posted bail, and he remains incarcerated. In view of the new charges, Binh Minh Chung’s medical license has been suspended.

A mother and daughter in Pennsylvania were arrested after police say they were caught shooting heroin in their car with the daughter’s 6-month-old son in the backseat.

Police say they were called to the Sheetz on Harvey Avenue in Greensburg on Wednesday around 11:16 a.m.

The caller, who just happened to be a Children and Youth Services worker, stated that she saw someone parked at the pumps of the gas station injecting something into their arm with a syringe. When police arrived on the scene, they found 43-year-old Karen Gillespie and her daughter 23-year-old Courtney Jording using heroin.

“The daughter was shooting heroin into the mother’s arm while at the gas pumps,” reported Capt. Chad Zucco of Greensburg Police.

More disturbingly, while they were using heroin, Jording’s 6-month-old son was found in the backseat of the car in an unsecured car seat wearing a dirty diaper.

“The car seat was not secured. It was just sitting in the back seat; further, the child had a wet diaper. They looked in the car to find diapers for the baby and there were none.”

Police also confiscated 41 stamp bags of heroin, 16 empty bags of heroin, four syringes, and two spoons.

“We’re thankful to the person that called. We’re thankful that we got there quick and were able to stop them quick before they got back on the road and hurt somebody or hurt the baby or anybody else.”

Gillespie and her daughter, Jording, are facing charges of criminal conspiracy, criminal use of a communication facility, possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, and most importantly, endangering the welfare of a child. Additionally, Gillespie faces charges of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver the heroin.

Gillespie and Jording are being held at the Westmoreland County Prison. Bond has been set at $10,000.

According to the Associated Press, the baby has been placed with a family member. The Westmoreland County Child’s Bureau is currently investigating the case.

As reported by the Inquisitr in January, car accidents because of heroin use are a rising problem in the United States. Media reports show people are using heroin while driving. In Cincinnati, heroin-related car accidents are almost a daily occurrence.

Earlier this year, a woman from Michigan left her children in the freezing car while she went into a McDonald’s bathroom to use heroin. She overdosed and was rushed to the hospital and given Narcan, a drug that counteracts the effects of heroin.

Heroin use has risen in the United States. The CDC reports that between 2002 and 2013, heroin use has risen a shocking 60 percent.

Billy Woodward, the Titusville, Florida, man who gunned down three of his neighbors in a fatal shooting in 2012, will have his case featured tonight on ABC 20/20. Authorities say that during Labor Day 2012, Billy Woodward, aka William Woodward, shot Roger Picior, Gary Hembree, and Bruce Blake because they had been threatening him and his family. Picior and Hembree died in the ambush, while Bruce Blake survived. Billy Woodward tried to use the Florida’s controversial “stand your ground” law in order to escape prosecution.

Court records show that Roger Picior, Gary Hembree, and Bruce Blake were involved in a feud with Billy Woodward that started over an accusation of a stolen birthday gift by one of the children. Since that time, neighbors say that Billy Woodward was threatened and harassed numerous times, and that the victims in the case were neighborhood bullies who made it miserable for everyone in the community. By all accounts, the victims yelled and called Billy Woodward ugly names every time he would come outside his home. One neighbor testified that the men would gesture as if they were going to shoot him.

The harassment was so severe that Billy Woodward had to install a home security system to capture the daily events. Friends and family members say that Billy was afraid for his life. And by September 2012, the tension had increased so much that at around midnight, Billy Woodward crawled down the street to his neighbor’s home and began firing, shooting and killing 39-year-old Gary Hembree. He then shot Roger Picior and Bruce Blake. Picior and Blake were transported to a hospital, where Picior later died. Law enforcement officials say that 31 shots were fired in all.

One of the victim’s sons told Brevard County law enforcement officials that after Billy shot the victims the first time, he came back to finish them off. Here is how Justin Picior describes how Woodward shot his father. “He pushed my dad’s head. He didn’t move, so he shot him a second time.” When Billy Woodward was asked in court why he kept shooting, he stated, “I put more bullets into his body because he was still alive, sir.” Judge James Earp made it clear that Woodward was not standing his ground, and later ruled against him, according to WESH.

“This defendant did not stand his ground.() What he did was decide to preemptively strike at his victims at a moment when it was entirely unnecessary to do so….There was no imminent threat of…harm to the Defendant or his family… [N]o reasonably cautious and prudent person would have believed the the danger could be avoided only through the use of deadly force.”

First Response is a dramatic new original movie that is airing tonight on the Lifetime Movie Channel (LNM).

LMN has offered an amazing summer lineup for 2015. First Response is another brand-new movie that is sure to keep its viewers on the edge of their seats. What makes tonight’s movie even more exciting is that Devious Maids star Dania Ramirez is set to appear, making this must-see movie a fan favorite. It all unfolds inside of an ambulance where paramedics Camilla and her partner Gerry are suddenly hijacked by a pair of masked bandits who’ve just committed armed robbery. Refusing to allow the paramedics to transport the wounded robber to a hospital, Camilla and her partner are forced to attend to him while inside of the ambulance. For Camilla and Gerry, the ambulance has become a trap, but for the robbers, it’s the perfect hideaway.

Will Camilla and her partner Gerry be able to save the hijacker before he dies? Or will this be Camilla and Gerry’s last ride? The movie’s plot seems far-fetched, but in real life, paramedics and ambulances have been hijacked. In 1990, Stillwater prison inmate Clyde Scott had an outside doctor’s appointment. In route to the appointment, Scott hijacked the ambulance, taking two paramedics hostage and leading law enforcement officials on a chase. He used a fake gun during the hijacking.

In 2005, a Texas man booted one paramedic out of the ambulance while one paramedic and a patient were trapped inside. He was later apprehended without incident. An Ohio patient under psychiatric care hijacked a medical technician team in 2006. The patient was later arrested. Two paramedics sustained minor injuries but were later released from a local hospital.

Dania Ramirez was born Dania Jissel Ramirez in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. She has been acting since 1997. In addition to Devious Maids, the beautiful Latina actress has appeared in HBO’s Subway Stories and in the 2004 movie She Hate Me.

Freddie Gray’s death after Baltimore police arrest leads to summer murder spree and soaring crime rates in a city out of control under Mayor Rawlings-Blake. July recorded a record number of 45 murders in Baltimore city, 192 murders for the year and 378 victims of gunshot wounds. The native city of Freddie Gray is fast becoming the deadliest city in America.

Freddie Gray, 25, was well-known to police and had an arrest record filled with drug busts and selling narcotics. Some believe he initially ran from police to ditch drugs in his possession before he could be searched. Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn J. Mosby blames the current crime wave not on the death of Gray, but on drugs – on addicts and on their drug dealers.

“We know it has to do with drugs,” Mosby said in a WBAL radio interview. “We know it has to do with gangs. We know it has to do with turf wars.”

Mosby’s comments came with a scathing critique of Baltimore City Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and her leadership during the crime crisis since the death of Freddie Gray.

When the mayor was questioned about the 50 percent decrease in arrest rates in the city and the increase in crime, she had little to say about her performance in office. The mayor actually refused to be questioned about the rising crime rate by a Fox News reporter as she fumbled through a press conference when the murder numbers for May were released.

It is true that Baltimore is a city hard to manage. It has the dubious distinction of housing the highest number of heroin addicts in America. Cocaine is even a greater problem in the escalation of violent crimes in Baltimore.

Citing Baltimore police records, Freddie Gray’s last arrest before his death on April 19 was on March 20 for dealing cocaine. He was scheduled for trial on those charges in May, just a few weeks before his death. Another prior arrest was for manufacturing narcotics, including crack cocaine. Unlike heroin which produces a zombie effect, cocaine induces anger, violence, and murder, according to the U.S. National Library of Medicine and the National Institutes of Health.

“Cocaine is an addictive drug that produces numerous psychiatric symptoms, syndromes, and disorders. The symptoms include agitation, paranoia, hallucinations, delusions, violence, as well as suicidal and homicidal thinking. Paranoia occurs in 68% to 84% of patients using cocaine. Cocaine-related violent behaviors occur in as many as 55% of patients with cocaine-induced psychiatric symptoms. Homicide has also been associated with cocaine use in as many as 31% of homicide victims.”

During the April riots following the Freddie Gray funeral, the local CVS pharmacy was robbed of all prescription drugs before it was set on fire. Shawn Elerman, a special agent at the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), told reporters, “With more than 30 pharmacies broken into by looters, roughly 300,000 doses of prescription drugs and opiates were stolen.” This was clear indication of the most significant problem in the troubled neighborhood of the riots; the rioting was not about poverty, unemployment, or finding out how Freddie Gray died.

The police department has spent almost $2 million dollars on riot gear and other equipment since mid-April. On July 8, Mayor Rawlings-Blake fired the Baltimore police chief and replaced him with an interim commissioner until a new chief is hired. Patrol cars are now manned by two officers, which actually decreases the number of patrols at the very time when crime is increasing.

A teenager bragged on Facebook about stabbing his teacher in a racially motivated attack. The 14-year-old admitted in court that he caused grievous bodily harm with intent to his science teacher, Vincent Uzomah, at Dixons Kings Academy in Bradford.

The teenage boy stabbed the 50-year-old science teacher before he fled the school and started bragging about what he had done on Facebook, according to a report by Metro.

The boy used an offensive racist term before stabbing Uzomah in the stomach, Bradford Crown Court heard.

About 20 minutes after the teenager attacked his science teacher, the boy posted a message on Facebook, which read: “The motherf***** getin funny so I stick the blade straight in his tummy.”

The unsettling post on Facebook received at least 69 likes, according to court records.

Prosecuting attorney Jonathan Sharp told the court the teenager was described by others as “disruptive and a bully,” and the pupil vehemently disliked Uzomah in the seven weeks he had worked at the school.

Attorney Jonathan Sharp addressed the court, saying the following.

“He did not show any especial hostility to other teachers. Mr. Uzomah, however, is black. The defendant disliked him, claiming he couldn’t teach, and freely referred to him by the epithet beginning with the letter n, including saying it in anger just before he attacked him. The Crown’s case in consequence is that the attack was, at least in part, racially motivated.”

According to Sharp, the day before the attack, the teenager told a friend that he was planning to stab a teacher and took a knife with a “substantial blade” into school on June 11.

The teenage boy also discussed his plans with other students who attended the school.

The prosecuting attorney added the teenage boy was described by witnesses as “getting angry, red in the face and putting his head down and muttering the words b***** and n*****.”

Sharp added his description of how the teenager committed the crime.

“He approached Mr. Uzomah and reached into his pocket but at that point he took out the knife and stabbed Mr. Uzomah in the stomach. Mr. Uzomah thought he was going to die.”

According to the Dispatch Times coverage of this incident, Uzomah, a committed Christian, said the attack left him “psychologically scarred,” but that he and his wife still found time to pray for his attacker.

The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to 11 years in jail for attempting to murder his science teacher.

A day at the beach turned deadly for a 20-year-old woman, whose drowning in Dubai has stunned local police and lifeguards. That’s because her father let it happen.

“This is one of the incidents which I cannot forget,” Lt. Col Ahmed Burqibah, Deputy Director of the city’s Police’s Search and Rescue Department told Emirates 24/7. “It shocked me and many others who were involved in the case.”

The young woman and her family, who were reportedly of unspecified Asian descent, went to the Dubai beach for “[a] picnic and fun.” The kids, including the 20-year-old, were swimming when suddenly, she started drowning and screamed for help.

Dubai lifeguards, reportedly men that day, hopped to action to save the girl. There was one problem — the woman’s father didn’t want them to stop her from drowning.

The man, reportedly very tall and strong, violently restrained the lifeguards from going into the water to save his drowning daughter. According to Burqibah, he pulled at her would-be rescuers, who were very close to saving her life.

The reason behind this incomprehensible action is disturbing.

“This obstacle was the belief of this Asian man who considered that if these men touched his daughter, then this would dishonour her. It cost him the life of his daughter.”

In other words, the father would rather have preserved his daughter’s honor, even if that meant she would die by drowning right before his very eyes.

According to The Daily Mirror, this decision was inspired by the man’s religious beliefs, however the family’s religion wasn’t specified by Dubai authorities.

Waseem Ahmed, director of risk at the Dubai Festival City, warned that more women and girls may die by drowning if female lifeguards aren’t hired to guard the city’s beaches, blaming “Middle East religious beliefs in Gulf countires” for the threat.

“Organizations and governments must employ certified female lifeguards to deal with females which in most cases is already in lace whether it’s government or private sector. But it is equally important to create an awareness amongst the community that the role of a lifeguard is that of a life-saver like a doctor and if in extreme cases when (females) are not available (men) must act or else we risk losing human life.”

As for the father, his actions haven’t been ignored by Dubai authorities. He was promptly arrested and, according to Emirates 24/7, “prosecuted and sued.” The Mirror reported that he had been fined.

Father Pulls Dubai Lifeguards Away From Drowning Daughter — Officials Warn Other Girls At Risk is an article from: The Inquisitr News

While her ex held her and her family at gunpoint, Valerie Jackson sent one text to her mother. Since the woman lived states away from her daughter’s home in Houston, there was only one thing she could do — call 911.

Sadly by then, it was too late. Jackson, her husband Dwayne, and six children Nathaniel, Honesty, Dwayne Jr., Caleb, Trinity, and Jonah — aged 13 to 6 — had been shot in the head, allegedly by Nathaniel’s father David Conley.

Neighbor and friend Kathy Sysongkim was in disbelief, according to KHOU.

“You killed the kids, why? Why? They didn’t do anything. They were good kids. It’s not one or two, it’s eight in the family. It’s terrible.”

Now, Sysongkim’s neighbors are remembering all the hints of violence in the Houston home, and wondering why police didn’t react sooner when it was clear something had happened there Saturday, The Associated Press reported.

Conley appeared in court Monday to face three capital murder charges. The state’s prosecutor, Alysia Harvey, had a difficult time as she outlined the charges against him.

“As a citizen of Harris County, as a mother, anytime you hear about anything that’s this heinous, anytime you hear about the death of this many children in a single event, it is hard,” she said. “And it’s, it’s hard.”

It’s not clear when Valerie texted her mother, or at what point Saturday she and her entire family were shot, execution style. But neighbors have said that police arrived at the home twice that day, knocked on the door, then left.

Child Protective Services also had its eye on the family, and Conley had a violent criminal history, including assault charges for pushing Valerie’s head against a fridge last month, and aggravated assault for threatening her with a knife. He served time in jail for the second charge.

According to police, Conley’s behavior had gotten bad enough for the family to change the locks on their doors, but authorities believe he entered through the house via a window; he reportedly used to live there.

Once inside, he handcuffed all eight family members, and at one point, shot each in the head. Some were shot multiple times.

Once the fateful text was sent and Jackson’s mother notified police, they arrived to spot the body of a child through a window at the Houston home. They tried to get in, but someone fired at officers. A standoff followed for several hours before the suspect surrendered.

“We do not — cannot — fully comprehend the motivation of an individual that would take the lives of so many innocent people. Especially the lives of the young ones,” said Chief Deputy Tim Cannon of the Harris County sheriff’s office, according to the AP. “The killer’s motives appear to be related to a dispute with Valerie, who was his former domestic partner.”

Despite their shock, people in this Houston neighborhood aren’t completely surprised. Carlos Sanchez, who lived across the street, caught Nathaniel — the eldest boy and Conley’s son — running away one night. A woman who lived next door, Vilma Flores, often saw the kids playing outside alone.

Nathaniel’s friend, Romello Broussard, gives perhaps the most chilling testimony that hints at troubles inside the Jackson home.

“He would come outside sad. I be asking him like, ‘Why are you sad?’ And he would be like, ‘Oh, my step daddy did this to my momma.’ I got the text message this morning and I thought everybody was playing about him being dead. That’s when everybody just start blowing up my phone, talking about he dead. And I just started crying right there.”

A man admitted he beheaded his wife and decapitated her two dogs in an apartment in Phoenix, Arizona. Maricopa County Superior Court documents show the man told authorities he was trying “to get the evil out” of her.

Court documents also show Kenneth Wakefield, 43, told police that about an hour before he beheaded his wife and her two dogs he had smoked marijuana and the designer drug spice on the morning of July 25.

When police interviewed Wakefield, he told them he stabbed his 49-year-old wife, Trina Heisch, multiple times before he beheaded her. He added that he also killed the dogs by cutting their heads off.

In a statement filed in Maricopa County Superior Court, police said, “He said he was trying to get the evil out of Trina.”

In addition to admitting that he killed and beheaded his wife, Wakefield told police he severed his left arm at the elbow and gouged out one of his eyes.

A neighbor told police that he discovered the blood-spattered and gruesome crime scene when he went to the apartment to check on the couple.

The neighbor said he knew they had issues with mental health.

When the neighbor arrived and opened the door to the apartment, he said he saw Kenneth Wakefield naked, with part of his arm cut off and his right eye missing.

The neighbor immediately called police.

Police officers who arrived on the scene said they entered the apartment and found headless Trina Heisch in a bedroom closet along with the two dogs.

Police said huge amounts of blood were splattered across the floors, walls, and cabinets of the apartment and several bloody knives were recovered.

Investigators said Kenneth Wakefield and Trina Heisch had a history of mental illness, drug abuses, and domestic violence.

Police said Wakefield was arrested in 2003 for attempting to kill a family member. In March, Trina Heisch was arrested for domestic violence assault, when she allegedly tried to stab Wakefield.

Reuters reports that Kenneth Dale Wakefield has been transient, and has a history of mental illness. On August 1, Wakefield was booked into a Maricopa County jail on one count of first-degree murder and two counts of animal cruelty after being released from a local hospital. He is being held on $2 million bond.

Family members told police that Kenneth Wakefield and Trina Heisch married after they met each other in a mental health facility.

Four days after the killing of 19-year-old Christian Taylor, an unarmed college football player, by a Texas police officer, the city police chief has fired the officer. According to CNN, officer Brad Miller, who shot Taylor outside a car dealership in Arlington, Texas, was fired for exercising “poor judgment.” The decision to fire officer Brad Miller was made public by Arlington city police chief Will Johnson.

In a statement issued by Chief Johnson, he confirmed the development.

“Based on a preponderance of evidence available to me and the facts revealed by the investigative team, I have decided to terminate Officer Miller’s employment with the Arlington Police Department for exercising poor judgment,” Johnson said.

The incident that has resulted in the firing of the officer has its origin from August 7 when Christian Taylor allegedly drove his SUV through the front window of a car dealership at Arlington. Shortly after security officials stationed there called 911, Arlington police officers, including officer Brad Miller, reached the spot. The officers asked Taylor, who was still inside the building when they arrived, to surrender, which he reportedly ignored. Officer Miller entered the building alone upon reaching the dealership when he saw Taylor quickly moving towards him while cursing. Reportedly fearing for his own safety and fearing that he would be overpowered by Taylor, Miller fired at Christian four times. In the meantime, another officer, a veteran with 19 years of service, also entered the building and used a Taser on Taylor. Officer Miller was incidentally in the last stages of his field training on the day of the incident. Initial investigations seem to confirm that there was no physical contact between the officers and Taylor before he was shot. Christian Taylor succumbed to his injuries later.

Explaining his decision to fire officer Miller, Will Johnson added,

“This unilateral decision to enter the building and to continue the pursuit deeper into the building upon making contact with Mr. Taylor — along with failing to communicate with fellow officers or develop an arrest plan — created an environment of cascading consequences that produced an unrecoverable outcome.”

Meanwhile, authorities are still investigating the incident. Upon completion, a report would be submitted to the Tarrant County district attorney for consideration and submission to the grand jury. The jury will decide if the officer’s decision to use force against Christian Taylor was warranted for and if he would face prosecution, CBS Local reports.

Christian Taylor was a defensive back and played for the Angelo State University. He was listed last year as a 5-foot-9, 180-pound freshman.

Taylor’s family, while admitting he was in the wrong, added that there was no reason for him to die. Adrian Taylor, Christian’s father, said the trained officers could have used other ways to subdue an unarmed man.

“What he’d done, ain’t no way right. But to shoot an unarmed man? You’re a police officer, you’re trained to take down men with your hands. You have your Tasers, you have your clubs, whatever there is. Unarmed, a 19-year-old — and you shoot to kill?”

A Massachusetts man allegedly assaulted seven cops and ranted about Ferguson after being pulled over for a minor traffic violation Tuesday morning, WCVB (Boston) is reporting.

Joseph M. Parker, 34, of Wakefield, Massachusetts, is facing a laundry list of felony charges for his crime rampage, including assault and battery, malicious destruction of property, assault and battery on a police officer, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

The bizarre series of events began early Tuesday morning when Revere police, on duty at the scene of some construction work, noticed that Parker was driving too fast. Revere police officer Jeremiah Goodwin waved to Parker to slow down — and that’s when Parker allegedly lost his cool, to say the least. Police say the man jumped out of his car. CBS Boston reports that Parker screamed at the cops that he was filming them.

Parker then allegedly punched Lt. Goodwin, according to police spokesperson Dennis Hickey Jr., who fell to the ground and was knocked out cold when he hit the ground. Three other cops on the scene wrestled with the man.

“He was combative at the scene. When we arrived it was very hard to get him into the cruiser.”

Handcuffed and riding in the back of a cop car, Parker continued his attempts at assault, somehow managing to take off his shoe and pound it against the window of the cruiser until it broke, then sticking his shoe through the broken glass in some bizarre attempt at escape.

During and after the assault, according to the New York Daily News, Parker ranted about Ferguson, although the specifics of his rant aren’t clear.

“F**k you cops with your guns!”

Back at the police station, Parker was calm and remorseful — that is, until he wasn’t. Seemingly without warning, Parker assaulted three more cops, severely injuring one’s leg, and somehow managed to break a metal detector. Hickey explains as follows.

“At times he was very compliant with us. And he was actually quite cordial, and then at other times he would fly off the handle.”

Quartz writer Jake Flanagin is a little perturbed at the fact that a white man who assaults seven cops lives to tell about it, while black men aren’t given that luxury, in his opinion.

“Joseph Parker’s mugshot shows a white man a little scraped, a little bruised, but defiant. Unrepentant. Because those are things white men get to be, in America. If you still don’t believe the system of law enforcement in the United States isn’t brutally, blatantly, unforgivingly biased when it comes to race, you’re simply not paying attention.”

Parker’s lawyer insists that he assaulted seven cops because he was having a bad reaction to medication.
